Just Another Day . . . .

Tuesday evening I was sitting on my bench along the Columbia just thinking and pondering the pathways of my mind, in other words, just chilling. I didn’t even notice at first when someone sat down on the bench. They were wearing a dark colored hoody and their face was shrouded with the hood. I should have known better.

Yep it was her, the elusive woman who usually appears when the seasons begin to change or during a short break in an extended period of extreme weather. Without expressing any emotion I said, “Back again eh?” Staring out over the water she relies, “Yep.” I add, “I suppose you are going to say something about the weather. The season has already changed.” She smiles, “Yes but I was hoping you would be sending me a little sunshine.”

I chuckle and say that I have been asked that a lot lately and maybe I should be a little less noticeable and wearing a hoody myself. I then borrow some words from the musical Annie and say, “The sun will come out tomorrow, and so you gotta hang on until tomorrow, come what may; tomorrow, tomorrow! You’re always a day a way!”  ~Patrick

Enjoy today.
